**These jigs are currently only available in orange or red while we source some new blue compact laminate**
The Mitre Sled holds boards up to 220mm wide at 45 degrees to router table surface so that a flush trim router bit can be used to cut mitres. The jig has a 550mm fence mounted at 45 degrees to the router table and 90 degrees to the cutting surface. This fence holds a custom clamp, 2 positioning stops and a sliding stop for accurately positioning your boards before cutting the mitre. A clamping channel, parallel to the cutting surface holds a second movable spring loaded clamp. The jig can also be used to cut partially hidden or hidden splines by running the jig against a fence. This jig requires a table mounted router and flush trim router bit. This post describes some suitable router bits to use with the jig. The jig requires some assembly to install the 45 degree fence. In the 2019 version of this jig, the fence is broken into two sections, allowing the longest part of the fence to be easily removed for storage.
The Mitre Sled Owner’s Manual details the setup and calibration process for this jig. This jig generally requires a digital angle measurement device to undertake the micro-adjustments to the 45 degree angle supports. We recommend undertaking some test cuts first after installing the fence to see if the jig needs this adjustment.
